Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell (born August 25, 1949) is an American TV chef who is a popular personality. Burrell was also a former instructor of the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, with her signature spiky blonde locks and her edgy personality on Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Cook series, shares straightforward and simple cooking techniques that are suitable for the home cook. Chef Burrell has worked in several of the most prestigious eateries within New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy, and battled in the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Growing up in the Upstate region of New York Chef Burrell was attracted by the food. After earning an English and Communications degree in Canisius College in Buffalo NY she was able to pursue her love of the business of restaurant by enroling in The Culinary Institute of America. I loved every minute during my time of The Culinary Institute of America she declares. It was difficult to master and do enough or put in the hours. When I graduated from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and Chef Burrell took a full year in Italy doing research and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well La Bottega del 30 one Michelin rating in Tuscany. Her time spent in Italy has helped her understand and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, which has had an impression on her culinary perspective. Burrell has been a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that aims to make a difference in children's lives who are facing difficulties. Burrell is also a Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity ambassador which promotes the awareness of the condition known as juvenile diabetes. As a guest speaker and teacher, she travels around the United States to discuss her culinary passion and profession. Anne has, through her whole culinary journey has stated that it's a pleasure to have the opportunity to be able to share this love of food with other people.
